DIALER.OPL For some time I have been working on a program that records Telephone call details. Whilst working on the program I found that the source code for using the Psion 3a's built in dialing and telephone number manipulation functions were spread over a number of files. This file attempts to bring together the various sources that I have found. It provides you with access to the "World" database for customising telephone numbers to the correct setting for dialing from "Home" and the telephone number can then be dialed using the Psion's built in sound capabilites. The PROCs to call are as follows: GetDStr$:(Number$) This converts the supplied string to a localized string. For example 0-181-1234123[United Kingdom] would be converted to 01811234123 when "home" is in the United Kingdom and 00441811234123 when "home" is a European country. If you have not supplied a standard World style string or the country cannot be found then a "" string is returned. Dial:(Number$) This dials the supplied number with default tone length, pause and delay. The defaults are 4,4,16. If you want to dial with other settings then use Dialplus which takes the number and then three the parameters. If you know of any additional information that would be useful to include in this file, one I have already thought of is to access the Psion's stored default dialing parameter, just drop me a line and I'll add it in.
